What you should know about South Africa:
Entry Documents:
International visitors need a valid passport to
enter into South Africa, but most foreign nationals
are exempt from requiring a visa.
Safety & Medical:
South Africa is known for its crime rate, but if you
stay safe then there is no need to be afraid. Don’t
go out on your own after dark, do not visit
townships without a guide, lock your cars & rooms,
do not leave personal items out of your sight.
Take precaution and be aware of your surroundings.
Water:
Tap water is chlorinated but safe to drink. Bottled
water is also available everywhere. Take precaution
when drinking water from rivers or dams.
Weather:
Summer
is from December to February-
temperatures are high, sometimes unbearable and the
humidity can be very high.
Winter
is from May to July where nights are
cold and days are sunny but cold. Snow is also
regularly experienced on the Mountain tops.
Spring
is from August to October bearable temperatures and chilly after sunset.
